What problem do you strive to overcome? Problem: In challenging situations, we sometimes struggle to understand and express our feelings and thoughts. This can limit our ability to problem-solve, to think creatively and critically about our situation and learn and growth through it. Solution: I integrate techniques from art therapy and yoga, including writing and drawing exercises, in order to recruit diverse parts of the psyche which can be helpful with processing challenging emotions and with engaging in interpersonal problem-solving. Result: I strive to support people in feeling a strong sense of agency in their own lives. I hope that they will gain a greater mastery of their emotions and develop problem-solving skills that will support them in their relationships. Experience: Anna is a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from York University. She completed a self-designed Individualized Studies Undergraduate Degree from Trent University in The Creative Arts and Well Being. She is also an Ontario Certified Teacher with experience teaching primary, junior, and intermediate students. She enjoys using arts-based approaches in combination with other modalities.
